Our Work

  • Basement Entry Vestibule

My customer wanted to get rid of a temporary plywood basement door and create a proper entryway leading from the bulkhead door stairs into the basement. I framed an entry vestibule out of 2×4’s, insulated the walls, installed 1/2″ plywood on the exterior walls and moisture resistant drywall on the interior. I spackled the walls with Sheetrock brand 20 minute “hot mud” to speed up the drying time and for extra strength (when compared with traditional joint compound) The interior and exterior walls were painted with white eggshell latex paint. I installed a steel colonial door with nickel finished hardware and painted it with semi-gloss paint. This job was completed March 18, 2016.
